Today marks the day of the Ambiente Press Conference, where prestigious designers and journalists from the consumer goods sector come together to join Nicolette Naumann, Vice President for Ambiente and Professor Janice Kirkpatrick, Designer of the UK Partner Country Exhibition.
For 2017, the UK has been chosen as the Partner Country for this global consumer goods platform. The products of UK exhibitors at the show are displayed in an extensive Partner Country Presentation curated and designed by Scottish designer Janice Kirkpatrick, one of the United Kingdom’s leading graphic and product designers. Janice Kirkpatrick will unveil the trends and designs for the 2017 Partner Country exhibition, taking place from 10th – 14th February at Frankfurt am Main.
Nicolette Naumann will also unveil the trends, concepts, events and show updates for Ambiente 2017. Nicolette will present worldwide developments in product design and the favourites for the coming season. Of particular interest to the consumer goods sector for Ambiente 2017 is the clarity of design and surprising patterns and textures.
Commenting on Ambiente 2017 Nicolette Naumann said; “We have an amazing show coming together for Ambiente 2017 and we’re really delighted with the concept that Janice has designed for next year.”
“It has tremendous impact and will be a spectacular focus for the exhibition and the more than 130,000 visitors who attend from around the world. The United Kingdom has always been in the top 10 of exhibitors and one of our great partners and this is one of the reasons why we chose them to present.”
The Frankfurt exhibition grounds will be transformed into a trend barometer, order venue and design platform revolving around tableware, kitchenware, household goods, wining and dining, as well as home, furnishing and giving.
Speaking at today’s launch event, Janice Kirkpatrick said; “The concept for the UK Partner Country exhibition allows me to showcase our world class design-led manufacturing industries, especially those working in ceramics and steel who are flourishing globally.”
“There is so much happening in the UK that people are not aware of and we want to use the opportunity to raise awareness of this so that we get behind these amazing businesses that are key to our economy.”
Over the course of the next few months Janice will be broadcasting a series of short films highlighting the importance of design that will run in the period leading up to Ambiente 2017 in February next year.
