Lingfield Point is a successful 107-acre business park in Darlington, and was originally built as the landmark Patons and Baldwin thread factory. After our multi award-winning branding and communications and interior design project in the Memphis building on the site for Student Loans Company, Graven was commissioned by the developers Marchday to design a brand identity and collateral to help market 10,000 sqft of new business space, dedicated to start-up companies and SMEs.
This building was the former Paton and Baldwin’s thread factory, hence the name “The Yarn”. The identity makes reference to the site’s fantastic history and heritage. A dynamic installation of threads throughout the corridor to add some interest and drama, vibrant break out areas and large scale black and white portraits of the site in the 1950s are just some of the features of the new space.
The design solution has helped to attract leading-edge organisations to lease the development.
