Royal Bank of Scotland retail banking concept
Graven reviewed the RBS brand and made recommendations regarding name, characteristics and visual, verbal and environmental appearance and operation. We then evolved a new Royal Bank of Scotland retail banking concept, comprising of a retail brand model, strategy, narrative and retail banking environment for the Royal Bank of Scotland that informed the refurbishment of 400 bank branches throughout Scotland.
Graven recommended changing the name from RBS to Royal Bank of Scotland to reconnect the bank its with customers and heritage. We developed interior brand guidelines and created a full-service branch ‘mock shop’ incorporating all the component of the retail design proposal which was used for beta testing, cost-engineering and staff training prior to being implemented.
A common set of products and components developed from the new concept comprises branding, signage, counters, modular wall, furniture etc as well as signage and graphics which play a big part in the visual impact of the branch.
